Review of the Film, "Compassion Rising"

A new film that previewed in the in San Francisco Bay Area recently is: COMPASSION RISING, a  Millennia Music film, conceived and produced by Michael D. Fitzpatrick.

It is the story of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, Thomas Merton and the Radical Music Convergence inside the world's largest cave!

The film was 11 years in the making. At this pivotal time in history, music is an important harmonizer."Compassion Rising was created with the intention of bringing forth a new musical voice designed to silence the mind an open the heart and body to the feeling of compassion, peace and love."

As The film's web site further explains, the film's intention was to create a more "powerfully vibrating music derived from and inspired by the ancient chant traditions for East and West, forged in the womb of the largest cave in the world, specifically designed to bring...people together in harmony and love.

Inspired by the friendship of His Holiness and the late Thomas Merton, and the subsequent, historic Gethsemani Encounter of the world's leaders, the film has been blessed by the talents of hundreds of people committed to peace into a movie, a CD and a book of photography.
