Mark Allan Kaplan, of Original Gravity--is an internationally acclaimed award-winning Filmmaker, Artist, Transformational Media Arts Consultant, Transpersonal Researcher and Educator, Certified Hypnotherapist, Spiritual Guidance Counselor, and an ordained Interfaith Minister.

Mark has a B.A. in Motion Picture Production from the University of Southern California School of Cinema and Television; an M.F.A. in Motion Picture Directing from the American Film Institute; and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.

Mark has had specialized training and experience in art and design, transformative creative expression,  consciousness studies,  transpersonal and integral research, spiritual development, spiritual guidance, and various healing and sacred modalities. He has studied with some of the finest teachers in the fields of anthropology, art, creativity, psychology, spirituality, and visual media, including anthropologist Barbara Myerhoff; motion picture director Robert Wise; visual design pioneer Lester Novros; artist and creativity researcher Jill Mellick; spiritual teachers Angeles Arrien, Baba Hari Dass, Krishnamurti, and Marianne Williamson; and transpersonal psychology pioneers William Braud, James Fadiman, Robert Frager, Arthur Hastings, and Charles Tart.

Mark has been a research and production consultant for Interval Research Corporation and Esalen Institute, and worked in the entertainment industry as a motion picture producer, writer, director and editor. His creative works have won numerous international awards and honors, and have been exhibited in schools, colleges, festivals, conferences, expositions, theaters, and broadcast media around the world.

Mark’s interests include transformative media, creative and visual expression, art and consciousness, architectural and spatial design, transpersonal psychology, world religions, spiritual guidance, and integral transformative theory and practices.
